A Complete Architecture for Enterprise Integration
SPEAKER
George Fernandez (RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia)
CONTENT
(Duration 3 h)
The main purpose of is tutorial is to introduce a suitable architecture and set of services to effect enterprise IT integration. The approach taken attempts to integrate the data and systems of an organization within a federated architectural style. This talk specifically focuses on:
- What is the rationale for, and what are the fundamental concepts of, a federated systems integration architecture.
- What are the main protocols required for federated systems interoperation.
- How a concerted, ontology-based approach can be used to:
- Support information exchange by providing a level of semantic services to the federation.
- Implement and ensure the correctness of the organisation's business processes.
The following topics will be covered by the tutorial:
- The problem of Enterprise Integration
- Introduction to the federated architectural style
- The federation infrastructure: service levels and primitive federation flows
- Integration required: data, processes and rules
- An ontological approach
- Enterprise Integration within an enterprise federation
No special knowledge is required of attendees. However, a general knowledge of computer science and/or information systems will be assumed.
