In January, 2003, CSIT and RMIT International commenced the African Virtual University (AVU) Project, - a 4 year World Bank funded project to deliver the RMIT Computer Science diploma and degree to students in Africa. We are now at the half-way point in the project. This presentation will provide an overview of our progress to date. It will discuss the courseware that we are providing, the approach we take to multi-campus management, the performance of our students in Africa and directions for the future. It will also examine the benefits that accrue to CSIT by our involvement in this project.
