Abstract:

The students of COSC2273 - Software Engineering Post Graduate Project, working under the business name of Your Software are nearing completion of their final 2 Year Masters of Applied Science (Information Systems) and invite all staff and post graduate students to a presentation of their projects' accomplishments. The projects undertaken were:

1. Agilent: The project team redesigned and rebuilt an existing Frequently Asked Questions and Product Release Notes web application for installation at the Agilent site. This benefits Agilent and its customers in reducing the amount of manual intervention previously required and significantly improving productivity. It is the basis on which subsequent application enhancements and modules will be developed.

2. Austock: An intranet was designed and built from scratch. In addition, the team customized and configured a third party Customer Relationship Management application for first time implementation at an Autock subsidiary site.

3. Sensis: In this project the team defined and built an application that allows mobile users to SMS a number that responds with an MMS of their current location as determined via a network positioning or a specified suburb, using existing Sensis technologies. This simple service leverages the MO (Mobile Originated) and MT (Mobile Terminated) capabilities of an SMS aggregator service.

The student teams will present their approach and methods and the final working applications. In addition, they will discuss their project work experience and answer any questions about the course or the projects.
