Abstract:

Dr. Stefan Böttcher is a Professor for computer science at the University of Paderborn in Germany and is currently at NICTA (in Sydney) for his sabbatical.

His major research interests cover XML data management including query optimization on XML views, XML access control, privacy violation detection, as well as data management in MANETs including caching, atomicity and synchronization of mobile transactions. Within his talks he gives an overview of different topics of his recent research in these areas and sketches some of the solution ideas.
