Orientation Information
Students commencing in CSIT must attend Orientation lectures, labs and workshops designed to prepare you for your studies and help you become familiar with the computer network and systems you will be using.
At a minimum attend the following workshops and labs:
- Lab Induction - 3 hours - This should be your first activity.
- Academic Integrity - 2 hours - All students are expected to complete this workshop regarding assessment responsibilities.
- Unix Survival Skills - 3 hours + 3 hours - Two lab sessions to get you started with the Unix operating system. You must attend a Lab Induction first.
- New Student Welcome - The official start to your University career.
Choose from the many and varied sessions offered in our comprehensive Orientation Program. Ideally you will come to Uni for a full week, meet staff and lots of other new students and become familiar with CSIT and RMIT. There are sessions for specific groups of students, don't miss the ones designed for you.
Professional Development Week
The Professional Development Week is a FREE program offered to all CSIT students in addition to their academic curriculum. The program is designed to assist students in further developing their "soft" skills as well as business and technical skills to assist in increasing their employment opportunities.
